May is the Provincial High Risk Driving Campaign month. High risk driving or aggressive driving is one of the top three highway safety concerns along with impaired driving and the non-use of seatbelts. Much research has been done on the topic of aggressive high risk driving behavior. Invariably, this type of driving behavior is a major contributing factor to fatal crashes. It is a contributing factor in approximately one third of all crashes and it plays a part in approximately two thirds of all traffic fatalities.
Better get tuned up, geared up and ready to ride! Bike to Work Week kicks off Monday May 31 for an entire week of pedal-powered fun. Running May 31 - June 6 in Greater Victoria, this fun FREE community event encourages people to try their commute by bicycle.
