Effective October 1, 2010 most heavy duty diesel powered vehicles in BC will have to be fitted with emission reduction devices. The use of the devices is expected to reduce particulate matter emissions by at least 20% and will be required in order to pass under the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program.
Particulate emissions are a significant health hazard when inhaled.
