I recently received a ticket in Alberta for speeding and have two questions about it:
1. Can I pay it somewhere in BC, or do I have to go to a government office in Alberta?
2. They wrote my old address on the ticket when I have a new address that is stuck on to the back, can I disput the ticket due to wrong address and if I can where would I do that?
Google is my friend!
I searched "Alberta traffic tickets" and the first choice was the right one...you can pay your ticket on line. I suspect that if you read the fine print on the ticket that you will also find directions on how to pay it by mail. At least I know you will on a BC ticket and I would be surprised if other provinces and states were much different.
As for a dispute over an old address, I doubt very much that would be enough to quash the ticket. Again, in BC anything in the shaded area of the ticket is not part of the offence charged and does not matter. Again, I would be surprised if it was much different elsewhere.
Of course, since this is DriveSmartBC, I don't know all the answers for other provinces and states. You may want to research sources in Alberta as well.
