I recently received a ticket for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign.
The officer wrote on the ticket that it took place on Deer Lake Place (no such street) however it did take place on Deer Lake Parkway. He also wrote down that I was driving a FORD XPLORER and this should be a Ford Explorer he forgot to put in the "E".
I am wondering if I disputed this ticket whether or not it would be thrown out in court due to the fact that there is no street with this name in Burnaby?
The street name being incorrect could cause an issue at trial. I have seen charges dismissed for an error of this sort.
However, the officer can amend the ticket before trial, after his evidence in chief or by issuing you a corrected copy of the ticket prior to trial and it would no longer be an issue.
As you have no doubt found by reading through other threads in this forum, Xplorer won't be an issue. It's in the shaded area of the ticket.
