Officer did not ask me to sign the ticket and acted suspiciously... should I dispute?

Hi there.

Shortly before christmas I was stopped by the police for allegedly failing to stop at a red light before turning right.

Having examined the ticket, it seems that it requires my signiature. I was not asked to sign it, and there is a mark where my signiature should be that is not my signiature.

I honestly can't remeber if I stopped or not. Further more, I saw the police car right next to me and remarked to my friends that I should drive carefully, so I find it hard to believe, having seen the police car and increased my care, that I failed to stop, even briefly.

On top of that the officer behaved extremely suspiciously.

Firstly he tried to book me for having too many people in my car for my N licence. I told him it was my sister and her boyfriend so I was OK. He asked if my sister's boyfriend had a class 5 licence. I told him that he did not but because the other passenger was my sister I was still OK. He said that was not the case and read me the rules from the back of my drivers licence: 1 Passenger only. I asked if I could see my licence. He gave it to me and read him the rest of the rules: family members are exempt.

Then he asked me to confirm an incorrect address, as if he was trying to catch me out.

The officer's attitude was extremely aggressive and the whole experience left me rather shaken.

I cannot call my sister and her boyfriend as witnesses, because they have since flown back to their home in Switzerland.

Should I contest this ticket?

Thanks,
Dan
