Speed in playground zone

I received a speeding ticket yesterday without the cop ever telling me clearly at what speed I was going. There was two cops and about 6 pulled over cars and the cops somehow looked overwhelmed.

All that my ticket says is: "speed in playground zone".

Should I not have been told the exact nature of the violation and should it not be clearly stated on the ticket?

Thanks.

Clearly Stated

If that is what it says on the ticket, it describes the violation sufficiently for the courts.

Here is what the Motor Vehicle Act has to say:

Schools and Playgrounds

147 (2) A person driving a vehicle on a highway must drive the vehicle at a rate of speed not exceeding 30 km/h when approaching or passing, between dawn and dusk, a public playground for children where signs are displayed stating a speed limit of 30 km/h, or on which the numerals "30" are prominently shown.

Given the description and the section number shown on the ticket, having read what the section says, is it not both exact and clearly stated?

You say you were never told clearly what speed you were going. What did you hear? What did your speedometer say?
