READING - Promoting Advanced Vehicle Safety Technologies

eSafety on Board logoThe eSafety background paper examines five systems: electronic stability control, warning and emergency braking systems, blind spot monitoring, lane support systems and speed alert. Unlike passive safety system we take for granted today, seatbelts and air bags, these systems are active. They involve crash avoidance technologies that protect car occupants by informing, advising and alerting the driver about dangerous situations and by assisting a driver to avoid the accident.

eSafetyAware is a European program designed to promote these safety systems to raise public awareness and encourage deployment of the systems.
