Would you accept a device in your vehicle that prevented you from exceeding the speed limit? The U.K. Department for Transport (DfT) has released a report that explores intelligent speed adaptation (ISA) in terms of driver behavior, costs, and benefits, and other issues. According to the DfT, ISA is an in-vehicle system that provides information on the speed limit for the road currently being travelled on. That information can be used to display the current speed limit inside the vehicle, warn the driver when he or she is speeding, or automatically apply the vehicle's brakes.
