I suggest you require a few doctors to take this computer driving test. The test needs to be redesigned with input from a senior driver. For example some of us may be slow at reading written script and more time should be given to read the multiple choice questions. I like to study each question to decide if there are several meanings to it. During my test I could only read the first of the four questions. This among other problems.
Hey Boss!
Me again. I just found the press release, so feel free to ignore my earlier request for info on this exam.
Thanks for the website, and thank you for your time and dedication.

Hey Boss!
This exam was obviously adopted well after I received my license. Could you please explain what it entails and how it is presented? Is it a computer generated "flash-card" type of exam? Thanks for any info.
Paul
What did you want me to do with this information?
Take it to your boss and try to get me a new exam.
DriveSmartBC is a one man show. I'm a retired constable with a traffic safety hobby....
As you can see, I am only one of many who think the computer driving test does not truly reflect driving skills.
The computer portion of a DriveABLE exam is not a driving test, it is a test of the cognitive ability of the driver. Being able to see something, decide what to do and then act properly is what the computer test is checking. If the driver cannot do this within a reasonable time frame, then they are not able to do so behind the wheel either.
If they do meet the minimum threshold they are then taken on a driving test. This test is not a comprehensive driving skills test like the ICBC class 5 road test. The driver is put through driving actions that typically cause problems for cognitively impaired people. The outcome of the driving test can also determine a pass or fail.
I am happy to help by providing space here on my web site for you to air your grievance and enlist the help of other drivers having difficulty with DriveABLE testing.
Please direct me to the research proving that this test correctly reflects the cognitive ability of a driver . I find it difficult to see how this test is accurate as some people react differently when put in front of a computer screen--Ballantyne
