NEWS - Enhanced License Plate Removal

B.C.'s Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) has implemented a program aimed at removing commercial vehicles with serious equipment defects from our highways. The program applies to commercial vehicles with a GVW over 5,000 kg that are part of the National Safety Code Program. If there are too many critical component defects the vehicle's license will be removed and the owner will have to prove that it has been repaired in order to re-license the vehicle.

Critical defects are items that directly affect the safety of the vehicle, should have been identified by the driver as part of that day's pre-trip inspection and cannot be easily repaired at the roadside.
