Effective March 1, 2016 qualifying hybrid and electric vehicles with a permit and displaying an approval decal will be able to use HOV lanes on BC highways even when the required number of passengers is not met unless a sign is posted stating otherwise.
Eligible vehicles include:
- Battery electric vehicle (BEV)
- Fuel cell vehicle (FCV)
- Plug in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)
- Extended range electric vehicle (EREV)
