Do you make new year's resolutions? I decided that I should this year and because of my interest, why not make it on my driving. With a little thought I resolved to take more time to scan my surroundings carefully before I did something like make a lane change or move away from a stop sign.

Question: A collection agency is calling my wife about a seatbelt ticket from 7 years ago. She has called ICBC and received a reference number regarding a ticket that was supposed to have been issued to her back in September of 2009.
Over the last 15 months I have had an issue in regards to my neighbours who insist on having the horn honk when they lock their vehicles. I think the problem can easily be resolved by education.
For my final article of 2024 I turned to social media and asked people there what they thought were important road safety issues to review. Within a very short time I had five suggestions to write about.
What happened the last time that you decided to deal with a road safety problem? Were you successful in your quest? Were your views taken "for information purposes?" Did you get sucked into the whirlpool of "that's not my job" or worse still, ignored completely?
I was on a motorcycle trip a few years ago with a friend , and was riding about 10 km/h faster on a two lane highway and cars were still pushing me to go faster. There was a solid line so no passing as well there were also curves to consider. The shoulder was loose gravel and for me to pull over each time the cars formed a pack behind me I would slow down and pull off to let them go.
