Q&A - Young Drivers & Penalty Points

Hello I am a novice driver and I was ticketed recently for speeding. I am just curious to learn more about the demerit point system and how it works. My main question is what is the penalty for having to many demerit points and what are the consequences?

You are probably all right with the one ticket if it was not for excessive speeding, but receive another that carries penalty points in the next 24 months and you will probably be prohibited from driving for a 1 to 3 month period.
