It appears that drivers in Mumbai, India decided that if they all honked their horns the traffic signals changed to green faster. The resulting cacaphony results in sore eardrums, increased heart rate, added stress and contributes to traffic chaos. Something had to be done to preserve health and sanity.
When I was posted in the Okanagan in the 1990s I was answering phones in the detachment dispatch office. A caller from Summerland asked what would happen if he decided to take his protest sign down to the highway and conduct his own personal blockade. The bad judgment (and driving) that she exhibited on December 20, 2017 in Saanich lead to a collision with 11 year old Leila Bui in a crosswalk leaving the girl with life shattering injuries that she will never recover from. Nikirk has been convicted of dangerous driving causing bodily injury.
