I received a notice from the City of Castlegar Bylaw office regarding a car I have parked on my property. According to bylaw 1120 #1(h) I am not allowed to have an unlicensed car anywhere on my property.

The load consisted of rough lumber, about 2x6 or 2x8 size 12 to 14 feet long and 3 feet high on a flat deck trailer pulled by a large pickup truck. Load security was provided by a single heavy strap wrapped once around the middle of the load. The combination was being pulled at highway speed which was 90 km/h. Do you think that this load was secured to the trailer sufficiently?

Question: I pulled up to a crosswalk and a stop sign where there was a pedestrian crossing. I came to a stop and let the pedestrians in it cross. after when there were no more pedestrians in sight I moved forward to see the traffic to ensure it was safe for me to go through the intersection (2-way stop).

The City of Rossland has done something rare in our motor vehicle centric world where many drivers think that faster is better. Effective on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 the speed on municipal streets has been lowered to 30 km/h. Hmm you say, that's the same speed as a school zone. Well, not in Rossland, the speed there has been lowered too. It's 15 km/h in pick up areas and 20 km/h elsewhere. Interesting!

I saw a car with chameleon headlight tint. Apparently it's a super clear transparent film pretty much like 90% transparent...maybe more??? ...with just pigments. The pigments make it have that look where you see a puddle of oil/water on the ground and it has that rainbow effect. I know it's bad to have tail lights blacked out as it can make it harder to see you braking...but what about these headlight film that is almost clear?

The collision counter on this web site estimates 33 pedestrian deaths and 1374 pedestrian injury collisions in BC to July 29, 2015. I almost added to that number driving in Vancouver last weekend and the incident still has me shaking my head. I can't believe that a pedestrian could be that stupid!

ICBC has produced two new videos aimed at making sure motorcycle riders use proper safety gear to protect themselves in the event of a crash. The first two videos are on riding pants and riding gloves. Protecting your hands and legs with the right gear as opposed to work gloves and blue jeans are shown. The third compares full face and partial helmets.
