Ian Shafer used to be a Las Vegas, Nevada resident and had licensed his car there. He moved to Victoria but had not obtained a B.C. driver's license or B.C. licence plates and insurance. He was stopped for speeding by police in Victoria. The incident resulted in a traffic ticket for speeding, not having a BC driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle being issued.

I was travelling through Alexis Creek where I was stopped and ticketed for speeding. The officer alleges I was traveling at 104kph in a 60kph zone. I couldn't be sure exactly the speed I was going but would have to defer to the officer's superior measuring equipment. ;-)
A very annoying problem we hear on the local roads are the numerous Boom Boxes playing at all hours of day or night. This case decides the liability for a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian on Rutland Road near the intersection of Leathead Road in Kelowna. The pedestrian walked into traffic without looking and the view of the motorcycle rider was obstructed by a parked truck.
The signs in the school zones around the Oceanside Middle School in Parksville remain up during the summer. They state the speed to be 30 km/h and underneath a tab says "school days." Other areas do not have the notation of "school days" but do leave up their 30 km/h sign during the summer.
