He moved to Victoria but had not obtained a B.C. driver's license or B.C. licence plates and insurance. He was stopped for speeding by police in Victoria. The incident resulted in a traffic ticket for speeding, not having a BC driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle being issued.

The reason I asked is: my employee said he got stopped for expired plates on the car he was driving, but the RCMP officer in Courtenay told him just to park it, even though the ICBC insurance had expired a week earlier.

If the vehicle was stolen with the keys or garage door opener in it, the thieves would not have easy access to your home and address. It went on to say that all the info that the police require would be on your drivers licence. Is this a good idea?
