Submit Your Traffic Law or Road Safety Question

DriveSmartBC is a community safety resource designed to help British Columbia road users understand traffic laws and regulations. If you have searched the website and cannot find the answer to your specific question, you are welcome to submit an inquiry via email.

Before You Send Your Message:

1. Please Search the Site First

Many common traffic rules, ticket disputes, and statutory definitions are already thoroughly documented on the website.

2. Provide Specific Details

If you are asking about a traffic ticket, please include the exact Section Number and the Description of the Offence printed on the ticket. Without these parameters, an accurate context cannot be provided.

3. PLEASE PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY (Do Not Include Sensitive Data)

Do NOT include your driver's licence number, date of birth, residential address, or full legal name. DriveSmartBC does not require this personal data to evaluate road regulations.

Response Expectations & Content Use

  • Speed of Response: DriveSmartBC is maintained entirely as a personal hobby project. Because I handle responses in my spare time, please understand that replies may take a day or two depending on my schedule.
  • Your Question May Become a Post: To build a permanent public resource for other BC motorists, your submission may be entirely anonymized (removing all identifying features) and published as a Q&A blog article on this website. If you are uncomfortable with this archive process, please explicitly state so within your message.
  • Independent Entity: DriveSmartBC is an independent publication and is not affiliated with the Provincial Government of British Columbia, law enforcement bodies, or ICBC.
