The following story about a towing bill was related by a site visitor from their recent experience:

The case of McLeod v British Columbia (Superintendent of Motor Vehicles) and The Attorney General of British Columbia challenges the constitutionality of s. 320.27(2) of the Criminal Code, which authorizes mandatory alcohol screening (MAS) of drivers for the presence of alcohol as an investigatory tool. Norma McLeod and Nicole Quashnick say that it infringes their ss. 8, 9 and 10(b) rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Vancouver's Worst Drivers is a YouTube channel that features submitted dash cam video from BC's Lower Mainland highlighting examples of terrible driving. The videos show collisions, people being dumb behind the wheel, people having no idea how rules of the road work, pedestrians doing stupid things, along with rants on things that drive the channel author nuts about other drivers.

The case of Close v Tigas involves a collision on 18th Street at the lane west of Lonsdale Avenue in North Vancouver. Andria Close was driving her Volkswagen Golf westbound on 18th Street and Ryan Tigas was driving his Mitsubishi Outlander northbound in the lane approaching 18th. Mr. Tigas' view to the east was obstructed by a truck and camper parked to the right of the lane on the south side of 18th Street.

Part of Parachute Canada's Vision Zero Collection is an explanation of centerline hardening strategies that are intended to make intersections safer for pedestrians by reducing the turning radius for motor vehicles. The use of physical objects such as bollards, delineators or rubber curbs encourage drivers to make left turns at slower speeds.

It's been a decade since I asked this question of visitors to this website. Back then it was in the context of asking if you had a better idea to change bad driving behaviours than our current traffic ticketing system. This time around, let's look at it from the perspective of our traffic laws.

Help! My father is 87 and has had a minor accident. My sibling and I would like to see him give up his license and keep him safe, not to mention others. He won't give it up freely! We don't want to be disinherited either! Who or what do we contact without him knowing? I have tried the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles, who is no help as they want a report.

The case of Taskov v McDonagh stems from a collision at the intersection of East 49th Avenue and Victoria Drive in Vancouver. Dragomir Taskov was driving eastbound on East 49th Avenue intending to make a left turn onto Victoria Drive. He was operating as an Uber driver with a fare. Katherine McDonagh was westbound on East 49th and collided with Mr. Taskov.
