Question: I was recently issued a ticket and the officer failed to return my insurance papers (I'll assume accidentally), I only noticed this the next day. I tried contacting RCMP about this, and have been given the runaround, saying I have to contact the officer, but cannot because he is not on duty.
My question relates to right turns. In the City of Vancouver there are a number of intersections where the roadway is of sufficient width for three lanes each way but are only striped for 2. The right lane is therefore double the width of the left lane, and generally is used to accommodate parking and bus stops. Main Street at 41st Avenue southbound is a good example.
Question: When reading one of the ICBC manuals recently (I can’t find the reference just now) it sounded like it was ok to use a cell phone to call 911 while driving. Could that be correct?
My Friends were at a Christmas party, and had their 20 year old son pick them up at 11:30 to drive them home as they had been drinking. They got stopped in a roadblock and the son got a $311.00 fine for driving with too many people in the car.
He made everyone get out of the vehicle and walk.
Question: Can a funeral home employee use the HOV lane after picking of a deceased person when transferring to funeral home from place of death? Would the deceased person qualify as a second person for the HOV lane with the driver?
Question: I am currently disputing a speeding ticket I received in Kelowna on a new section of Hwy 33 which was not properly / adequately signed. I live on Vancouver Island and went up to Kelowna for my hearing. Due to there being to many cases that day, mine did not even get up to bat.
Question: Is there a section in the Motor Vehicle Act that states in the absence of speed signage on a highway (ie a newly constructed / upgraded section), a driver will use common sense to judge what a safe speed limit would be?
Question:I'm a class 7N driver which of course has the driving restrictions of 1 passenger only unless with at qualified supervisor 25+. I was wondering if someone 25+ with a valid driver's license from another country (or one from a different province) and international driving permit (IDP) can count towards being a qualified supervisor?
Question: Are you allowed to wear headphones, earphones or earbuds while driving a vehicle in British Columbia? Can an officer ticket you for using earbuds for hands free calling even if they are not in use? One of my earbuds doesn't work but i have to put it in my ear because the mouthpiece is attached to the one that doesn't work and the sound comes out of the other one.
I was recently stopped for a speeding violation of going 122 kph in a 80 kph zone but I was going just slightly over 80 when I noticed the officer in the middle of the highway to wave me over and as I looked in the rear view mirror there was a black Honda approaching me at very high rated of speed suprisingly he pointed at me to pull over (I have a black VW Golf) When he approached my vehicle he told me I was going 122 kph and
