The case of R v Zhang involves the dispute of a traffic ticket for speeding and not displaying a new driver sign. Mr. Zhang pled guilty to disobeying a traffic control device instead of the speeding offence. He did not know that the disobeying a traffic control device conviction included penalty points.
The case of Okines v Mr. Rent-A-Car involves a collision between Justine Okines, a cyclist riding through, and Brodie Davison, a driver turning left in the intersection Davie Street and Pacific Boulevard in Vancouver.
In the case of British Columbia v Querin Justice Kirchner is asked to decide whether a road running through the property of Curtis and Deanne Querin is a private road on their property or is a public highway owned by the province.
The case of Stempowicz v Dobbs involves a collision at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Langford Parkway in Langford. The traffic light was green for the opposing drivers, one turning left and one driving straight through. Justice Morley decides which driver was the immediate hazard.
It's probably safe to say that most municipalities have a bylaw regulating the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks. This case involves the City of Vancouver's Street and Traffic Bylaw, Harold Gutovich and the sidewalk in front of his home at 1121 W. 16th Avenue.
The case of Somers v MacLellan involves a single vehicle collision with two vehicle occupants that occurred one night on the Old Fort Loop Road in Fort St. John. Cody Somers was ejected from the vehicle and Richard McLellan remained inside. The court must determine who the driver was to assign liability.
Karen Nishimura was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a collision that caused her injury. During her recuperation she used up the banked sick time she had accumulated through her job. Realizing that she might need that sick time if she did not heal from her injury properly or that it would not be available to take as a benefit when she retired, she asked ICBC to compensate her for it.

When an officer writes a traffic ticket the description of the offence is required to give the driver enough information to understand what they are being charged with. If that is not the case, the judicial justice could choose to dismiss the offence. This case is an example of that.
The case of R v Gray arises from an unsafe passing incident that occurred on the highway near Round Lake. A police patrol that was southbound on the highway observed 3 vehicles abreast approaching. The highway was only two lanes wide for northbound traffic so the third vehicle was being driven between the widely spaced solid yellow lines marked in the centre of four lanes.
