This short video by the Tire Industry Association explains what your tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) does and why it is important to know when any of your tires are underinflated. Aside from the safety benefits, the TPMS system can  decrease irregular tire wear, improve your vehicle’s handling, reduce braking distance and better your fuel economy.

It appears that the Abbotsford Police Department is following the lead of other agencies such as TACVictoria with a no-punches-pulled video reminding drivers to yield to pedestrians and not drive while distracted. It could equally well be used to remind pedestrians to watch for vehicles when they use a marked crosswalk.

This video is provided by the City of Guelph, Ontario and shows drivers how to drive at an intersection where a bike box is present.

The YouTube description of this video says that "Simulated crash tests show the importance of proper child restraint installation. Most parents don't realize they need to use the top tethers for forward-facing child restraints. Attaching the top tether keeps the restraint from pitching too far forward in a crash putting children at risk of head or neck injuries. Tethers are key to getting the most protection from a child restraint."

This video of a multiple vehicle collision was contributed by the driver in the middle. He was stopped waiting to turn left with his wheels turned to the left in anticipation. The driver of pickup following behind apparently fails to notice the left turn driver slow and stop in front of him, resulting in the first collision.

Parents significantly influence their children's driving behavior. They grow up mirroring their parents habits and attitudes behind the wheel. Research indicates that teens are more likely to adopt risky driving behaviors if they see their parents as engaging in similar actions. Raising a safe driver starts early in life.

My windshield seems to have two visible areas, the one swept by the wipers and all the rest. You can clearly see them when you look across it at an angle. I've never been able to really clean the glass so that it is the same overall. I found this video and it seems to be the OCD Guide to Cleaning Glass, but I want to give it a try. Being able to see well, especially in bad weather, is critical to safe driving.

There're quite a few accidents daily in Vancouver, pedestrians being hit. Just last night, someone was hit in New West and they had to close Stewardson Way. Its crazy the way people walk here. Full deep black is not visible through a wet screen with a thousand lights flashing in your eyes from the oncoming cars lights.

A lot can happen in just the 23 seconds of this video contributed by Orang Gila, taken in Maple Ridge, just past the Safeway at Dewdney Trunk Road. Keep an eye out for the pedestrian on the right sidewalk mid-block who is clearly dithering about crossing the street and is having difficulty finding a large enough gap in the four lanes of traffic that she must cross on the busy street.
